Once your application is approved, you will be asked to submit a deposit towards your last month's rent to secure the apartment. The primary purpose of a “deposit” is to ensure that the parties will do business and that the agreement will be performed as planned: it is security. If the applicant defaults or decides not to take possession of the property, the applicant loses the non-refundable 50% of the amount paid or a minimum of $500. If for some reason you are not selected, your full deposit will be returned. Once the applicant takes possession of the rental unit, the deposit will be applied to their last month's rent.
